The Duke

We booked The Duke for a family get together and had a lovely time . The accommodation was very clean and spacious and the hot tub and tennis court an added bonus. There was a lovely welcome pack waiting for us on our arrival and the North East Escapes team were excellent , responding quickly to a couple of wee queries that we had. It was an easy walk in to Bamburgh with its wonderful castle, beautiful beaches and lovely pubs. We would definitely recommend The Duke to our family and friends and hope to return in the not too distant future .

This is a lovely property that sadly needs some TLC … The clothes horse is completely broken this should be replaced. There are not enough pegs for the clothes line ( these are important when staying for a week) . There is no large chopping board for eg bread or pizzas . The grey chopping boards are badly worn as are the cafetières - although this is not perhaps a major thing it just runs the place down a bit . The TV remote is impossible to work as the buttons sink into it and as the back is also missing and it has been replaced with shabby tape. It is very cheap to replace this . Outside lights at back - only one was working . Parking can be a problem when all properties are full - losing some of the grass area to further parking would not detract from the setting and would ensure no issues of people parking outside of your door when trying to unload , baby, dog, cases and all our holiday items . We did have a great stay but whoever is in charge of maintaining the property needs to keep on top of it . Little things but given that this was not an inexpensive property, we feel these should have been addressed .

Peaceful and relaxing break. Very much enjoyed. Positive: The property and area were great. Perfect for pets as there was an enclosed garden. We would definitely go back.
