Some negatives.
Stayed for 3 nights mid week. Initially the cottage seemed fine. Location was fab, very peaceful but near to Bamburgh and the village, although parking in the village was nigh impossible.
Everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay, no issues with the kitchen, heating, shower all great.
Cleanliness ! Was sadly below expectations, mainly the floor and the soft furnishings.
The floor needed a good scrub, not just a mop, the bathroom tiles especially the floor again needed a deep clean. The cushions on the seating were grubby, smudges of food or pet saliva were present .
The throw on the bed, didn’t look or feel freshly laundered . The sheets were spotless !!
Overall a decent stay, but I spent the evenings wanting to clean, to the extent I got the vac out to go round the edges !

Really enjoyed our stay and Bamburgh is stunning
Positive: Spacious and well equipped barn conversion. Beautiful setting with rolling fields and plenty of outside space to relax and enjoy.
Negative: A little bit isolated, shortcut through the fields is fine but could be tricky in the dark

Brilliant accommodation in a great location within a truly stunning landscape.
Positive: Comfortable. Nice size for our group of 4. Very good facilities. Outstanding location.
Negative: All good apart from a few small things. Bathroom wasn’t fully cleaned when we arrived (hairs and fluid around the base of the pedestal, I had to wipe it up before our friends saw it). Toilet roll holder kept falling off the wall. Door handle of log burner came off in the hand. Table tennis bats were all but destroyed. None of these things spoilt our break but it’s important you know.

Over a number of years we have stayed at the Dukesfield Bamburgh First cottages. This year we stayed in Stable Cottage, our son and his family stayed there on 2 occasions in previous years so we knew what to expect. All of the cottages are fitted out to a high standard though some fittings are a little tired now for example the tall leather dining chairs have collapsed seats (also true for St Aidens cottage) and are very uncomfortable, however the settees and beds are comfortable, the decor is tasteful and the cottage is very well equipped. The location is excellent. It is a pleasant walk through fields to Bamburgh with panoramic views of the castle, or it's just a short drive, giving access to the magnificent beach and dunes. Each of the cottages has access to the mini gym, hot tub and an enclosure safe for kids and dogs alike, and each cottage has its own barbecue. I can recommend these cottages, including Stable Cottage.

Well furnished and equipped cottage.
Positive: Location OK. It was a couple of miles from Bamburgh. Generally well equipped and certainly looked good when we arrived. No shortage of additional facilities e.g. hot tub, domes, games room
Negative: One or two pieces of equipment were tired e.g. hob didn't work, heated towel rail didn't seem to work, there was a toilet roll holder which was broken when we arrived.
