Darjeeling @ The Tea Warehouse

Ideal location for a short holiday break. Positive: Perfect location in a lovely market town; very central to good restaurants and local tourist attractions. The beds were very comfortable and good communication from the host. Negative: Only one bathroom for 2 double rooms. Limited toiletries provided. Parking required moving the car from one location to another over the course of the day.

Positive: Location was perfect for the castle and garden and the town is lovely. The bed is conforrable. Good base for touring by bus/train. Kitchen well equipped. Shower was ok. Easy to find and access and staff are available for queries. Negative: Needs a table, no-one wants to eat on a shelf facing the wall. Even just for 2 this is not acceptable, but this place is supposed to sleep 4. Fine if you have breakfast in bed and eat out, but if you prefer to stay in and cook it is very disappointing. Lacking detail too, ironing board but no iron, washing machine but no clothes airer, steps needed to reach higher shelves in cupboards and even the fridge, I am 5ft 2 and I needed to climb onto the worktop to switch on the toaster as there is a deep recess.

Fantastic apartment in great location Positive: Fantastic location in the very centre of Alnwick. Spacious, clean and well equipped, perfect for a short stay. Negative: Sofa is quite uncomfortable but fine for a short stay.

We loved our stay at Darjeeling! On the doorstep of everything you could need, Carlo's fish and chips and fab independent shops and within short walk to Alnwick Castle, Gardens and Barter Books :) Definitely recommend this clean comfortable residence. Great value central bolthole!

Perfect place to stay when visiting Alnwick- a home away from home Positive: Accommodation is really central in Alnwick meaning it's easy to walk to all the sites. Flat was well laid out and contained everything needed for our stay. It was like a home from home. Parking isn't available (for more than 2 hours) outside the accommodation but there are a number of 24 hour car parks nearby which it's easy to move the car around if you're not using it every day. The parking disc (to use to park outside the accommodation) in the hallway was much appreciated. Negative: There was an odd smell/odour in the entry way which we never managed to work out what it was, fortunately it didn't travel up to the accommodation though.
