Auty Cottage

5 STARS - Very comfortable property with everything you need to hand. Positive: Loved our few days at Auty Cottage, in Tyneside. Location is excellent for pretty much everything. Access to the shops and bars and only a short walk to the beaches and castle etc. The accommodation was flexible for our needs, and having the small garden area for a warm weekend, was a real bonus. So many thoughtful touches in every room, this place has been very well thought out for visitors. Having a perking permit for the streets close by was real bonus, too. We will definitely return! Negative: I'm being picky, but a way of locking the gate to the garden when we were in the property would have been a nice to have - we didn't feel like anyone was going to walk in, but it's close to the bars and pubs and well, people can get a little daft when they've had a few. It's double yellow lines outside the property, but down a cul de sac, so we offloaded and loaded the car as quickly as possible. Not sure how vigilant Tyneside parking wardens are, we we didn't take any chances. We had visitors and they had to park a fair distance away, due to the how busy the village centre was on a warm weekend. All first work problems, but something for guests to be aware of.

Fabulous stay in a stunning cottage by the sea . Positive: This is an exceptional cottage beautiful in every way . It is also perfect for exploring the coast or just simply enjoying the many cafes, restaurants around it . We felt very relaxed and at home here and the hosts have provided everything you would need to have a great stay . We couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the cottage and the garden is just outstanding . We also thought the choice of colours , furniture and artwork was so well thought out , they definitely gave the cottage the ‘wow ‘ factor . Negative: We were staying during the World Cup and we would have liked to watch matches on BBC 1 etc but we found we were unable to as the cottage does not have a TV license !! Not everyone is into completely using streaming platforms like Netflix etc , you will have some older guests too . A TV License is a small cost when you consider how much we were paying to stay .

We have just had the most wonderful 4 night stay at Auty Cottage. This property gets everything right. We parked our car on arrival and didn't need to use it for the duration of our stay. Located within 2 minutes walk of the beach and local bars and restaurants yet tucked away you feel away from it all too. The house is beautiful. Well equipped, clean with so many nice touches. The bedding, the copious amount of towels, the bathrooms are lovely and everything felt so comfortable. The sun room is just gorgeous when you have the bifold doors open. It is not often that we get post holiday blues but we definitely have following our wonderful stay. Thankyou to North East Escapes and to the house owners too. We hope to be able to visit again.

From the moment we unlocked the door, we knew we would love staying here. The attention to detail is stunning. This is a beautiful house and garden, carefully thought out, with touches of quality and comfort throughout. The dogs loved the outdoor shower! A welcome upgrade from our cold hosepipe at home! We loved the superb location, the peaceful spaces, the comfy sofa and beds and the wonderful deli round the corner with the most delicious bread! The support with booking etc was outstanding. Very happy!
